The Italian police, led by the
Catania Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted Operation
Takendown, the largest anti-piracy operation in Italy and
Europe, dismantling the most widespread transnational criminal
organisation that illegally served more than 22 million users.
Over 270 postal police officers conducted 89 searches in 15
Italian regions, as well as 14 searches in the United Kingdom,
Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Romania, and Croatia, targeting
102 individuals. The Croatian police issued precautionary
