A man stabbed his partner to death at
their home in Civitavecchia, a port near Rome, on Thursday
before turning himself in at a Carabinieri police station and
confessing to the femicide, sources said.
The man is a 54-year-old Venezuelan citizen, the sources said.
The police found the woman's body in the hallway of the building
that their apartment belongs to with stab wounds to the stomach.
Italy has experienced an alarming spate of femicides and
shocking cases of gender-based violence.
