A 20-year-old woman is dead after
being hit by a car at Lurago Marinone, in the province of Como,
overnight, apparently after getting out of her own vehicle to
rescue an animal, sources said on Saturday.
Carabinieri police have arrested a 43-year-old man accused of
killing the woman and then fleeing the scene.
The suspect was found asleep in his flat with a blood alcohol
level of 1.49 mg per litre and with one foot in plaster, the
sources said.
