French President Emmanuel Macron said
Tuesday that he will attend Pope Francis's funeral on Saturday
after US President Donald Trump confirmed on Monday that he will
be present with First Lady Melania Trump.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will also
attend, according to EU executive sources, and King Felipe VI
and Queen Letizia will lead the Spanish delegation, the Spanish
royal family said.
Felipe VI, Letizia and the king's mother Sofia on Tuesday signed
a book of condolences at the Vatican Nunciature in Madrid.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is coming too, a spokesman
said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be present at the
funeral too, AFP reported a Kyiv source as saying.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has no intention of attending,
his spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted by Tass as saying.
