Lombardy will participate in Expo 2025
Osaka: the official confirmation came from Raffaele Cattaneo,
regional undersecretary for international and European relations
of Lombardy on the occasion of the opening of the new All Nippon
Airways route between Milan Malpensa and Tokyo Haneda.
"We are truly delighted that Lombardy will also be a protagonist
at Expo" declared Ambassador Mario Vattani, Commissioner General
for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka. "Councillor Guido Guidesi had
given me a preview, but now the official confirmation, announced
by the regional undersecretary for international and European
relations Raffaele Cattaneo, is truly excellent news, which
comes at a time when we are facing the final stages of
preparations for Expo 2025 Osaka, which will open on April 13".
The massive presence of the Italian regions at Expo 2025 Osaka"
continued Vattani "an absolute record of 18 Regions out of 20,
including now also Lombardy, shows the determination with which
our Country System is working to conquer the Asian markets, a
strategic objective for our economy. The choice of the
Commissariat to invest in the participation of the Italian
Regions at Expo 2025, ensuring them an important space in the
exhibition path of the Italy Pavilion, was strategic. Promoting
territorial excellence in this way, through a collaboration
agreement signed last March with the President of the Conference
of Regions and autonomous provinces, Massimiliano Fedriga, also
means enhancing our entrepreneurial fabric and Made in Italy in
the prestigious global setting of Expo 2025 Osaka. We are very
grateful to President Fontana and the regional council of
Lombardy for this far-sighted decision and we are certain that
this important Italian region will make a significant
contribution to best represent our nation on a global stage,
promoting innovation, research and the many excellences that
make us unique in the world. Starting next April, we will have a
precious semester to multiply new collaborations and consolidate
priority relationships for our future".
The regional council of Lombardy has approved participation in
Expo 2025 Osaka and the next step will be the organization of an
institutional delegation to further strengthen the already solid
relations between Lombardy and Japan. With trade exchanges
amounting to 4.2 billion euros, Milan and Lombardy confirm
themselves as strategic partners in the bilateral relationship
with Japan, not only on an economic level, but also from the
point of view of industrial and technological collaborations, as
well as culture and tourism.
