A mans jawbone was mistakenly removed
last May in a Rome hospital that got two biopsies mixed up and
thought he had a facial tumour, Corriere della Sera reported
Thursday.
The man went into the Policlinico Umberto I Hospital after
dental procedures to remove a wisdom tooth and a cyst, the Milan
daily said.
He was X-rayed and biopsied but then the set of tests were
inadvertently swapped for those of a man with a jaw tumour.
He is seeking damages.
