The Italian Antitrust Authority said
Tuesday that it has opened a probe into Rome public transport
company ATAC over the quality and quantity of the services
provided between 2021 and 2023.
The authority said ATAC may be guilty of unfair commercial
practices for failing to comply with the standards set out in
its service contract with the city of Rome and those laid down
in the charter of the quality of public transport services.
'ATAC is alleged to have systematically failed to meet the
objectives relating to the regularity of surface and underground
transport services, the security of underground stations, the
operation of lifts, stairlifts and escalators/mobile stairs, and
the lighting of underground stations," the authority said.
