If cool heads prevail over Ukraine a
US-EU summit on ending the war with a just and lasting peace
plan is within reach, Premier Giorgia Meloni said in London
Sunday.
"We proposed that there be a meeting to talk frankly about what
we want to do, how we want to face the challenges that arise,
not just the issue of peace in Ukraine," Meloni said at a press
briefing at the residence of the Italian ambassador in London
after a summit on Ukraine in the British capital.
"In a world that continues to change and in which we need to
share objectives, scenarios: I think that by working cooly, not
getting carried away by emotions and reasoning strategically,
this meeting between the US and the EU is absolutely within
reach, it is certainly what Italy is working for".
