Pope Francis spent a quiet night in
hospital, the Vatican Press Office said on Friday morning.
On Thursday night, the press office said the Pontiff remained
stable in a complex clinical picture as he battles double
pneumonia at the Agostino Gemelli Hospital in Rome.
The clinical situation of the Pope, who has been in hospital
since February 14, "remains stationary in a complex picture", it
said.
The Pontiff on Thursday "resumed respiratory therapy".
and alternated between "non-invasive mechanical ventilation at
night" and "high-flow oxygenation with nasal cannulas" during
the day, the Holy See Press Office explained.
On Thursday, health staff at the Gemelli Hospital celebrated
Pope Francis with a cake and candles on the 28th day of his
treatment and the 12th anniversary of his election to the
papacy.
