Milan's Chief of Police Bruno Megale
on Friday imposed restrictions on 12 members of the Ultima
Generazione (UG - Last Generation) group over recent stunts to
highlight the need to combat the climate crisis staged at
Italian celebrity chef Carlo Cracco's restaurant in the city's
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The police issued two orders for suspects to leave the city and
11 Dacur bans on entering venues open to the public.
During stunts on March 19, 23, and 26, after having a drink
inside, UG members held up banners and then sat on the floor of
the restaurant, effectively occupying it.
In one stunt a protestor stood on a table and poured wine over
it.
The group complained that Cracco illegally confiscated one
activist's phone.
The actions are part of a long series of controversial acts of
civil disobedience UG has staged to draw attention to the
climate emergency, including pouring easy-to-wash-off paint over
the protective shields of artworks and famous monuments and
halting traffic on highways.
