Premier Giorgia Meloni on Tuesday
phoned the mother of Alberto Trentini, a 45-year-old Italian aid
worker held in Venezuela on 'conspiracy' charges since November
15, and told her the government was working for her son's return
to Italy.
Trentini, from Venice, is being held in a Caracas prison.
"The government is working to bring him home," said Palazzo
