Italian exports were up in February
despite a 9.6% drop in trade flows to the United States in
year-on-year terms, Istat said on Friday.
The national statistics agency said exports were up 3.5% in
February compared to January, whole imports increased by 1.7%.
It said exports were up 0.8% in value terms with respect to
February 2024, while they were down 4.3% in volume.
While exports to the USA and countries including Belgium, Turkey
and Austria were down, Italy registered big increases in trade
towards several other markets in year-on-year terms, including
Germany (+14.5%), Spain (+21.1%), Switzerland (+17.3%), the
United Kingdom (+10.4%), the OPEC countries (+12.9%) and the
Netherlands (+13.3%).
