Security for he conclave of cardinals
to elect a successor to late Pope Francis will be like the
security measures ad oped for Francis's funeral Rome Prefect
Lamberto Giannini said Wednesday.
Giannini said it would be hard to predict when the pope's
election will take place after the conclave starts on May 7,
bringing tens of thousands of people to Rome once again.
He also said special services may be needed if there is a new
pope in two Sundays' time to give the Angelus blessing in St
Peter's.
"It is an unpredictable event, but we will be ready with all the
forces at our disposal," said Gianni after chairing a public
order and safety committee meeting in the Italian capital.
