Deputy Premier, Transport Minister and
League leader Matteo Salvini has complimented George Simion, the
leader of Romania's nationalist, right-wing AUR party, for his
victory in the first round of the country's presidential
election on Sunday.
The presidential election Romania held six months ago was
annulled over allegations of campaign fraud and Russian
interference after a radical outsider, Calin Georgescu, won.
"The people finally voted, freely, with their heads and hearts,
in Romania," Salvini said via X.
"Without caring about the Brussels 'lords' and their dirty
tricks. Well done George Simion".
