Defending champions Sara Errani and
Jasmine Paolini beat Mirra Andrea and Diana Shnaider 6-4 6-4 to
reach the final of the women's doubles of the Italian Open on
Friday.
They will face the winner of the match between Veronika
Kudermetova-Elise Mertens and Storm Hunter-Ellen Perez in the
final.
Paolini is also in the final of the singles and she is bidding
to become the first Italian woman to win the tournament since
Raffaella Reggi in 1985.
The home fans also have high hopes of a winner in the men's
singles.
Italy's world number Jannik Sinner will face Tommy Paul in the
semi-finals later on Friday after demolishing Casper Ruud 6-0,
6-1 on Thursday while his compatriot Lorenzo Musetti will take
on Carlos Alcaraz.
