There has been a weak start to
Italy's January sales, which showed an annual drop of 8% in
their first week, according to an initial monitoring of the
Federazione Moda Italia-Confcommercio fashion and retail member
companies that responded to the questionnaire on the early
trend.
In the first week of the sales, 55% of the companies noted a
drop, compared to 24% who found a stable trend and 21% who
recorded an increase in sales compared to the same period in
2023.
The figure is of course still partial, taking into account that
sales are just beginning and generally last around sixty days.
