Italian wine exports rose 5.5% to a
record 8.1 billion euros last year, Farm Minister Francesco
Lollobrigida said Tuesday.
"In 2024, exports of our wine sector reached the record figure
of 8.1 billion euros, with an increase of 5.5% compared to
2023," the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests
wrote on his Facebook profile.
"An extraordinary achievement that demonstrates the strength,
quality and competitiveness of Italian wine, an authentic
ambassador of Made in Italy in the world.
"Defending and promoting our excellence - the post continues -
means protecting the identity and wealth of Italy.
"The Meloni Government is on the front line to guarantee
concrete tools to support our companies, to strengthen their
presence on international markets. "Italian wine - he concluded
- is not just a product: it is tradition, culture and work. It
is a pillar of the national economy and we will continue to work
so that it grows and becomes increasingly established on a
global level".
