Pope Francis is resting after
spending a quiet night , the Vatican Press Office said early on
Monday.
Vatican sources said on Sunday that the pontiff's condition was
stable and the picture remained complex as he continued
pharmacological treatments and respiratory and motor
physiotherapy.
In its latest medical bulletin issued on Saturday, the Vatican
said that the pope's condition had improved slightly.
The 88-year-old Argentine pontiff is on the 25th day of his stay
at Rome's Agostino gemelli Hospital where he is being treated
for bilateral pneumonia.
On Sunday, the pontiff in his Angelus message thanked doctors
and healthcare workers for his care during the more than three
weeks that he has been hospitalised.
The message was released by the Vatican without Francis reading
it out as on previous Sundays since the pope was admitted to
hospital on February 14.
