The Ambassador of Italy to Portugal, Claudio Miscia, visited the Faculty of Letters at Lisbon University, where an Italian Lectureship promoted by the Farnesina is active. Accompanied by councillor Claudio Martinello and lecturer Ernestina Carrilho, the ambassador met the students taking Italian language and culture courses.
The Reader appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Portugal is Giovanni Ricciardi, a writer known for a popular series of detective stories featuring Commissario Ponzetti and the city of Rome.
Finally, the embassy delegation was received by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Hermenegildo Fernandes, with whom aspects of future cooperation in the academic sphere between Italy and Portugal were discussed.
