The 'Nutrinform Battery', the front-of-pack nutrition labelling system developed by Italy' will be presented on 6 March in Bern as part of a conference promoted by the Italian Embassy in Switzerland, with the participation of top scientists and nutritionists.
During the new conference on the topics of healthy nutrition and correct consumer information," explains a press release from the Embassy, "the Nutrinform Battery developed by Italy will be presented, 'to allow consumers to quickly acquire basic data on the content of a portion of a product in terms of calories, nutrients and impact on the daily diet.
Unlike other systems, the Nutrinform Battery "does not demonise any food through red lights or danger signals," the note adds, and is instead "a dynamic scheme that, through the use of an App that will be shown during the conference, allows us to add up the intake of the foods and drinks we consume, so that we always have the amount of calories, salt, sugar and saturated fats consumed during the day under control," the release explains.
The conference will be opened by Italian Ambassador Gian Lorenzo Cornado, followed by presentations by Professors Michele Carruba, Lorenzo M. Donini, Daniela Martini, Dr. Tatiana Gaudimonte and Swiss Senator Mauro Poggia.
