The Ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Luca Gori, spoke yesterday at the opening of the 46th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade, where Italy is this year's partner country.
During the ceremony, which took place in the presence of the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Minister of Tourism and Youth, Husein Memic, the main tourist attractions of our country were presented. Ambassador Gori and President Vucic then visited the Italian Pavilion built by ENIT SpA on an area of 150 square metres, where the national tourist offer will be presented to sector operators and visitors, with a focus on the Region of Sardinia. The CEO of ENIT SpA, Ivana Jelinic, and the Councillor for Tourism, Crafts and Trade of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Franco Cuccureddu, also attended the inauguration.
In his speech, President Vucic recalled the centrality of the relationship with Italy, also thanks to the three Business Forums held in the last two years, and stressed that tourism is increasingly a source of economic growth for Serbia, whose GDP is expected to grow by 4% in 2025.
"Italy's participation in the Belgrade Tourism Fair is part of the path of strengthening our bilateral economic partnership undertaken in recent years. Our participation as a partner country at this Fair aims to strengthen our cooperation in the tourism sector also in view of the major events planned in Italy in the near future: the Salone del Mobile, Milan Fashion Week and especially the Milan - Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics," said Ambassador Gori.
"Italy and Serbia can also develop their cooperation in the tourism sector," added Gori, "by focusing on sectors of common interest such as mountain tourism, thermal tourism, food and wine tourism, and eco-sustainable tourism, as well as on increasing the number of destinations with direct connections between our countries.
