The cooperation activities between Italy and Tanzania are further strengthened with the holding of a new course dedicated to international judicial cooperation, organised by the Scuola Sant'Anna with the support of the Farnesina, in the framework of the project "Rule of Law and Cooperation in Africa 2024 - 2025", aimed at the Tanzanian judiciary.
The training course, held in Dar es Salaam, was aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of magistrates in relation to international judicial cooperation instruments, with particular reference to trafficking in persons, also through the analysis of practical cases.
The Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Giuseppe Sean Coppola, took part in the closing ceremony where he met the participants and took the floor to highlight how the Italian approach to fighting organised crime represents a model of excellence appreciated and applied in international contexts, paying tribute to the memory of judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino, symbols of the struggle for justice and legality.
The Ambassador stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation in this crucial area, recalling that: "The fight against mafias and transnational criminal organisations is a shared responsibility, which requires constant and coordinated efforts at the global level".
