The Italian Embassy in Northern Macedonia expressed grief and condolences over the disastrous fire at the discotheque in Kocani, which left dozens dead and injured. "We are deeply saddened by the tragedy that occurred in Kocani, in which many young people lost their lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the deceased, to whom we extend our sincere condolences, as well as with the injured, wishing them a speedy recovery," reads a message posted on the Embassy's Facebook profile.
With that message, it was at the same time announced that "the screening of the film 'Shlomo's Breath' scheduled for tomorrow, organised in cooperation with the Holocaust Fund of the Jews of Macedonia and the Macedonian Jewish Community, has been postponed to a date to be determined". The authorities in Skopje proclaimed a seven-day national mourning starting today in memory of the victims of the discotheque fire.
