The restored Ksar Ouled Soltane, an ancient fortified granary of Berber origin, was inaugurated in Tataouine, southern Tunisia. The ceremony was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, the director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Tunis, Isabella Lucaferri, the director of the National Institute of Tunisian Heritage (Inp), Tarek Baccouche, and representatives of the local authorities. This was announced by the Italian Cooperation on its social channels, adding that the sales point for local products of the women's Gda in Tataouine was also inaugurated on this occasion. These results are part of the project: Rinova - Environmental Rehabilitation, Job Creation and Territorial Development in Tataouine, implemented by the Municipality of Nuoro (Italy), in collaboration with the association Arcs Tunisia, a pilot project that aims to promote sustainable and resilient territorial development through: waste management, support for the local economy, and the promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage. On this occasion, Prunas expressed his admiration for the active involvement of rural women, emphasising their essential contribution to local dynamics and social innovation. A fine example of Tunisian-Italian cooperation at the service of local territories and communities, AICS concluded in a note.
