(ANSA) - Brussels, June 22 - Eurogroup President JeroenEulbloem said Monday a deal with Greece is possible this week. "Technical assessment (of the Greek proposal) is underway to crunch the numbers and reach an agreement within this week," he said after a meeting of eurozone finance ministers (Eurogroup). Greece had sent two versions with "minimal differences", he added.
Greece's proposal is "a solid and far-reaching basis" on which to discuss debt repayments "but there is still work to do," said EU Economic Commissioner Pierre Moscovici.
European stock markets gained momentum at the end of the Eurogroup meeting, with the Athens bourse jumping 8.5% as Franfurt, Madrid and Paris added 3% and Milan's FTSE Mib index gained 2.18%

Germany Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said earlier that Athens has not presented significant proposals to end the impasse in negotiations with its creditors and avert the risk of a Greek default.
"There is nothing new," Schaeuble said as he entered the Eurogroup meeting.
