Italy's Federica Brignone missed out
on this year's World Cup SuperG title coming third to winner
Lara Gut-Behrami of Switzerland in the last race of the season
at Sun Valley Sunday.
The Val d'Aosta born athlete, 34, had clinched the overall title
as well as the downhill trophy when the last downhill of the
season was cancelled due to heavy snow Saturday.
But Swiss Gut-Behrami won the last SuperG by 1.2 seconds from
40-year-old American legend Lindsey Vonn, with the Italian
coming third and losing the title.
Brignone, Italy's most successful woman skier ever, had been
five points ahead of the Swiss going into the race but
Gut-Behrami blew everyone away with a storming run.
