According to the German Federal
Statistical Office (Destatis), the inflation rate in Germany,
measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index
(CPI), was +2.3% in January 2025. In December 2024, inflation
was slightly higher, at 2.6%. Destatis also reports that the
rise in food prices has slowed, particularly. In addition, the
development of energy prices had a downward effect on inflation
in January 2025 also, Destatis noted.
