Muhammad Yasin Malik (C) chairman of pro-independence group
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) scuffles with Indian
policemen as they try to detain him during a protest march
against the suspension of Kashmiri students from India's Meerut
Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), in Srinagar,
Kashmir, India, 07 March 2014. Police detained Malik along with
a half dozen of his supporters and lodged them in a local police
station. At least 67 Kashmiri students were suspended by a
university in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) after they
allegedly cheered for Pakistan cricket team during their match
with India. The students were subsequently charged with sedition
by the UP government, which were dropped after the move evoked
sharp criticism from political circles and the Pakistani
government.
