Cyber incidents almost doubled in Italy in 2024, the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) said Tuesday.
"The cyber threat in Italy continues to grow," it said.
In 2024, the National Cybersecurity Agency monitored 1,979 cyber events (there were 1,411 in 2023, so the increase was 40%), while there were 573 incidents (+89% compared to 2023, when there were 303).
The victims of cyber events identified were 2,734. The numbers were contained in the agency's annual report, published on the institutional website.
The ACN also released over 53,000 alerts and continued its certification, cloud qualification and evaluation activities within the scope of the golden power.
