Gabriele Muccino's film Fathers
and Daughters is due out in Italian cinemas on October 1, and
the director has described it as his most complete work yet on
life, childhood, and the fear of love.
The film focuses on a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer played
by Oscar winner Russell Crowe, who struggles to look after his
six-year-old daughter Katie - played by Kylie Rodgers - who
falls mentally ill after her mother dies in a traffic accident.
Years later Katie, played by Amanda Seyfried, lives far
away from her father in New York and is still grappling with
childhood issues, which are preventing her from falling in love.
Fathers and Daughters is the fourth American film directed
by Muccino. Also in the cast are Jane Fonda and Diane Kruger.
