Udinese beat Lecce 1-0 in Serie A on
Friday evening thanks to a controversial first-half penalty.
Lorenzo Lucca's argument with teammates over his taking the
penalty created tension
Captain Florian Thauvian is Udinese's regular penalty-taker.
However, Lucca took the ball and pushed away teammates who
opposed his initiative and scored his third goal in five games.
He was pulled off by the coach Kosta Runjaic moments later, just
nine minutes before the end of the first half of the match on
the 26th day of Serie A.
Udinese garnered an additional three points with Friday's
victory to reach 36 points, just one behind ninth-placed Roma.
The Udine side are now unbeaten in the last four matches after a
dry spell from Christmas till the end of January.
Lecce are 15th in the Serie A standings, five points above the
relegation area.
