Giorgia Meloni is better placed to
talk to Donald Trump than anyone else in Europe, Defence
Minister Guido Crosetto said Monday ahead of the Italian
premier's visit to Washington Thursday.
"I think Giorgia Meloni, more than any other European leader,
can talk to Trump, explain the reasons why this Western alliance
on which the world has been supported for 80 years must continue
and is made up of two pillars: the United States and Europe; the
sum of the two makes us more credible in the world", Crosetto
said on the program 'Cinque minuti' on Rai 1.
"Trump is a very pragmatic person, used to negotiating. The
relationship he has established with the world is: 'what do you
give me/what do I give you', 'what are the advantages of
cooperating with you and what are the disadvantages' and I think
that with Europe there are more advantages than disadvantages".
