United States President Donald Trump
and First Lady Melania paid their respects to Pope Francis by
visiting his coffin in St. Peter's Basilica on Saturday before
it was taken into the square for the late pontiff's funeral.
Trump and his wife took a moment to pause in prayer before the
coffin.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella, accompanied by his daughter
Laura, also paid homage to the pope's closed coffin before the
funeral, as did several other heads of State.
