In March 2025, exports from Italy to
the United States recorded strong trend growth of 41.2%, Istat
said in releasing data on extra-EU foreign trade Friday.
Imports from the US fell by 9.5%, said the stats agency.
Marked increases on an annual basis were also recorded for sales
to Mercosur countries (+28.9%) and OPEC countries (+24.9%).
Exports to Turkey (-31.3%) and China (-8.5%) decreased.
As for imports, strong increases on an annual basis were
recorded in purchases from Mercosur countries (+71.2%), China
(+44.9%) and ASEAN countries (+25.6%).
Imports from OPEC countries (-25.4%), India (-17.8%), the United
States (-9.5%) and the United Kingdom (-9.2%) fell.
In March 2025, trade with non-EU27 countries is estimated to
show a quarterly increase in exports (+2.9%) and a reduction in
imports (-1.1%).

On an annual basis, exports grew by 7.5% (it was -1.6% in
February), while imports recorded a trend growth of 8.7%, mainly
contributed by the increased purchases of consumer goods,
durable (+33.6%) and non-durable (+32.4%).
Overall in the first quarter, exports grew by 4.8% and imports
recorded an increase of 5.3%.
