In March, the general unemployment
rate in Italy rose to 6%, while the youth unemployment rate rose
to 19%, Istat reported Friday.
The number of employed people fell by 16 thousand units compared
to the previous month, but rose by 1.9% on an annual basis.
The European Central Bank, for its part, spoke
of "economic prospects clouded by exceptional uncertainty' due
to tariffs and tensions on the markets that entail significant
downward risks' for European GDP."
