The Italian antitrust authority on
Monday issued fines totalling over 200 million euros to phone
companies Fastweb, Telecom, Vodafone and Wind Tre.
It said they were guilty of "a secret, unique, complex and
continued agreement restricting competition".
They allegedly "prevented the correct working of competitive
dynamics between operators in the fixed telephony service and
mobile telephone service markets".
