During the Assembly of Members of the European University Hospital Alliance (EUHA) held in Stockholm on 14 June 2024, with the appointment of Anna Flavia d'Amelio Einaudi, Director of Research at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, the Italian university assumed the presidency of this European healthcare alliance for the next six months, receiving it from Karolinska University Hospital.
Founded in 2017 EUHA brings together prestigious European university hospitals committed to building a sustainable healthcare ecosystem capable of achieving the highest levels of quality. In the coming months, San Raffaele will contribute in particular to the scientific, political and institutional debate regarding Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs).
The role of university hospitals is essential within European healthcare systems and in the context of the EUHA, the participation of two institutions of Italian and Swedish excellence is also strategic for the promotion of research and bilateral scientific cooperation supported by the Embassy of Italy in Stockholm.
