Italy's Ambassador to India Antonio Bartoli took part in the Hindu mega pilgrimage Maha Khumb Mela and immersed himself in the waters of the Ganges, accepting the invitation of the Indian Foreign Ministry, which brought a delegation of about seventy diplomats from different countries to the Hindu mega pilgrimage taking place in Prayagraj.
The Ambassador described the experience as "rejuvenating". "An immersion in the sacred waters and in the very heart of Indian culture. Where one can feel hope vibrating. This is precisely the task of diplomacy: to be at the confluence of interests, cultures and values'.
