Inaugurated in Prague, in the official Residence of the Mayor of Prague, the TASI Space Industry Days.
An initiative under the banner of space collaboration between the Czech Republic and Italy, coordinated by the Czech Ministry of Transport with the support of the Italian Embassy in Prague, designed to present opportunities for over 40 Czech companies to join the Thales Alenia Space (TASI) value chain.
The event took place over two days and included a presentation of the portfolio of space programmes led by Thales Alenia Space, an in-depth look at the leading activities of Czech companies in the sector, a B2B session, and a visit to a number of industrial companies in the area.
The initiative was sealed on Wednesday 12 March in the representative halls of the Italian Embassy by a networking event, attended by representatives from institutions, industry, research and the media involved in the project. The evening was opened by the speeches of the Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mauro Marsili, Minister of Transport Martin Kupka, and engineer Enrico Zampolini Faustini, Vice President of Thales Alenia Spazio. The Space Industry Days follow on from the institutional mission that Minister Martin Kupka, who is responsible for the space dossier for the Czech Republic, made to Italy in January, and confirm a strong interest in consolidating constructive dialogue with the Italian Space Agency, including through more concrete and effective cooperation at an industrial level.
Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), is one of the most important manufacturing companies in the global space sector and is at the forefront in the production of satellites, space sensors and products for telecommunications, navigation, Earth observation, scientific research and orbital infrastructure. The company has a turnover of more than EUR 2.2 billion and 8,600 employees, is present in 8 countries and has 16 sites in Europe.
