"It is evident that between our two countries there are all the premises for working together": with this positive note, Ambassador Antonio Bartoli concluded the round table on innovation and start-ups, the last chapter of the first day of the Italy-India Business Forum, the scientific and technological entrepreneurial forum of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ice, in collaboration with Confindustria underway in Delhi.
The Ambassador also announced the forthcoming opening of a centre in Bangalore, India's It capital, which will help "facilitate the creation of connections between companies and universities of the two countries".
The round table was opened by Mauro Battocchi, Director General for the Promotion of the Country System of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who illustrated the role of institutions such as Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and the economic and tax advantages provided by the recent Italian law on start-ups. Battocchi, after recalling that Italy was recently indicated as the third most attractive country in the world for investments, highlighted 'the clear complementarity between the characteristics of India, recognised by all as a digital superpower, and Italy with its manufacturing excellence', and invited Indian entrepreneurs to 'put Italy on their agenda'. The round-table discussion included speeches by representatives of Italian and Indian companies and institutions, who gave a lively picture of their respective ecosystems in the innovation sectors. Among others, Luca de Angelis from Tech Europe Foundation, Lucia Chierchia from Gellify, Giancarlo Rocchietti from Club degli investorpri, Francesco Cerruti from Italian Tech Alliance, and start-uppers Giuseppe Galimberti, founder of Nano-Tech and Paola Allamano, creator of Waterview, brought their experiences as innovators.
Giorgio Marsiaj, Confindustria's delegate for the space economy, recalled how it is always necessary for companies to broaden their vision by opening up to synergies and partnerships and focusing on the value of mutual trust.
