Pope Francis continued his treatments and motor and respiratory physiotherapy at Rome's Gemelli hospital on Wednesday morning and he also followed the Vatican's Lenten spiritual exercises via television, the Vatican press office said.
It said the 88-year-old Argentine pontiff, who was admitted to the hospital on February 14 and is being treated for bilateral pneumonia, did not have any visitors on Wednesday morning and none are scheduled during the day.
The Vatican is set to release a new bulletin with an update on his condition later on Wednesday.
Francis had another "restful night" in hospital, the Holy See Press Office said in a statement early on Wednesday.
On Tuesday the Vatican said the Pope's clinical situation "remains stable, while doctors confirm slight improvements, within a picture that for them remains complex".
Doctors lifted their reservations about the 88-year-old Argentine pontiff's prognosis Monday, saying his life was no longer in danger but he still required hospital treatment.
