Franco Dal Mas, the Secretary
General of the Central European Initiative (CEI), and Slovak
Foreign Minister Juraj Blanár met in Bratislava to present the
CEI's priorities and discuss cooperation with Slovakia.
The discussions addressed several important issues, including
European integration, regional cooperation, the war in Ukraine,
and enhancing the CEI's role.
Dal Mas emphasized the significance of the CEI in promoting
dialogue among member countries and supporting EU membership,
highlighting that the rapid integration of the Western Balkans
is crucial for Europe's future. "The success of the Western
Balkans is the success of Europe," he said.
The Secretary-Generall also reiterated the CEI's commitment
to supporting Ukraine and stressed the importance of increased
Ukrainian involvement in CEI activities.
He introduced several projects that will be pursued during
Serbia's presidency in 2025, particularly in legal diplomacy and
connectivity.
Dal Mas thanked Blanár for Slovakia's longstanding
involvement in the CEI, especially in supporting the European
integration process to strengthen regional stability. He
expressed hope for continued cooperation throughout his term.
In response, Blanár expressed appreciation for the CEI's
efforts and confirmed Slovakia's readiness to collaborate toward
a more stable and prosperous Europe, free from divisions.
He also expressed his commitment to contributing to Serbia's
presidency's success, particularly in terms of e European
integration of the Western Balkans.
