(ANSA-AFP) - ZAGREB, FEB 12 - A 4.6 magnitude earthquake
shook the Croatian coast on Tuesday, state media said, with no
damage or deaths reported in the immediate aftermath. The tremor
struck seven kilometres (four miles) northeast of Starigrad in
Zadar county at 6:43 pm (1743 GMT) on Tuesday, according to US
Geological Survey data. Croatia media reported there were no
damages or casualties immediately, but the tremor provoked panic
among locals in the well-known tourist area. Reports said that
the earthquake was also felt in neighbouring Bosnia and
Herzegovina. The moment magnitude scale classifies any quake
between 4 and 4.9 as light. In 2020 Croatia was hit by a deadly
earthquake that killed seven people, displaced hundreds and
caused serious material damage. (ANSA-AFP).
