Germany's construction sector is
experiencing a new slowdown: compared to 2023, the number of
building permits has decreased by 43,700 units, to 215,900
overall, the lowest level since 2010, according to the Federal
Statistical Office. This is a more than sixteen percent
decrease, and it is the third consecutive year that Germany's
permit count has decreased. The office reports that the decline
is greater for new constructions, with 41,500 fewer permits than
in 2023, representing a drop of nearly 20%.
