"The great message and symbolic
value of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica-Gorizia
must also be a basis for building policies for the future," said
Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice President of the European
Commission, with responsibilities for Cohesion and Reforms, at
today's 'Interreg Go!' event in Gorizia. "The work we are doing
goes in two directions: on the one hand, adapting the current
cohesion policy programmes to the new scenarios we face, and on
the other, creating the conditions to strengthen this policy in
the context of the discussion we will have in the coming months
about the future budget," Fitto continued.
