"The Vespucci represents the best
of Italy that travels around the world, an embassy that sails,
that transmits the sense of Italy's vision, but also of quality,
of the desire to transmit knowledge that comes from millennia,"
said Marco Alberti, the Italian ambassador in Tirana. Alberti
welcomed the ship Amerigo Vespucci in Durazzo, the fifth stop on
the Mediterranean tour. "We are here to represent our country,"
he explained, "with a great symbol like the Amerigo Vespucci."
