Tow-time ex premier and populist
progressive 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader Giuseppe Conte on
Wednesday urged MPs to stand up and make a silent protest
against the "extermination" in Gaza, and all the opposition
parties stood up.
"I appeal to all colleagues: let's give a sign of humanity.
Let's condemn this extermination in silence, let's stand up",
Conte said in the Chamber of Deputies, inviting parliamentarians
to make a gesture for Gaza.
The oppositions stood up.
Premier Giorgia Meloni did not stand up, and Conte said: "She
remains seated, shame!".
