Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal
Pietro Parolin said Wednesday he thought it was premature to
talk of Pope Leo XIV accepting Ukrainian President Volodymyr
Zelensky's invitation to go to Kyiv.
"No, this is premature, there was an invitation from President
Zelenskyj, now the Pope will evaluate what to do, but how can I
say yes or no?
" I don't think even he, at this point, will say yes or no",
said Parolin, recently confirmed as Secretary of State of the
Holy See, on the sidelines of a conference at the Pontifical
Gregorian University after the Ukrainian president's invitation
to Pope Leo to go to Kyiv.
