An exhibition retraces more than 70 years of Italian fashion jewellery history through more than 200 iconic pieces that tell of the creativity, innovation and excellence of Made in Italy design. To promote "Diva! Il Glamour Italiano nel Gioiello Moda", from 17 to 19 May, is the Italian Institute of Culture, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Nairobi.
Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exhibition is curated by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at the Milan Polytechnic and Director of the Vicenza Jewellery Museum, with the assistance of Beatrice Rossato, Livia Tenuta and Susanna Testa.
Among the designers and fashion houses on display: Angela Caputi, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, Elio Fiorucci, Missoni, Ornella Bijoux, Iosselliani, Sharra Pagano and many other leading figures of the Italian creative scene. The opening evening, on 16 May, will be attended by curators Beatrice Rossato and Susanna Testa, who will introduce the themes and contents of the exhibition.
The evening will be accompanied by live music by Scott the Violinist. On 17 May, there will be a workshop for children, with a creative jewellery-making activity organised by Riko Creations, while parents can visit the exhibition at their leisure.
